It’s been a while…. let me catch you up.
Yes, the pieces are made of solid quality materials and manufactured/assembled with attention to detail, but…
Our heads have been down and work has been getting done…
This coming year is starting off on an interesting foot. I’m traveling to Denver, CO to help out a wood shop that I worked in previous to starting Dredge. I’m still in the early stages of business and it’s sort of nice being able to kind of work as a gun for hire.
As some of you know Dredge just rolled out it’s 3-D printed bottle opener. It’s a pretty simple housewares item, that most people have laying around. I say most people, because I was in a band at on point where the lead singer would open his beers with his teeth. “CRINGE”
"Cinder” hit me like a brick, pun intended. I had been scouring the depths of my brain for something different; something that had low effort production costs that could sell at a reasonably low price point. The trick was that it had to also fit the Dredge Design brand.
So what simplified group of words, gives the impression, or mental visual of all of the influences that make up the style of Dredge Design?
...That being said, using reclaimed pallet wood is not a cheap cop out of a material, sure the pallet itself is cheap or free, but the labor cost that goes into reclaiming the wood is quite high.
Here are a couple of tips that will ease the process of reclaimming hardwood pallets for building materials.
Step 1- when searching for a pallet look for hardwood pallets. For they are worth your time to suffer for.
